Donald J. Hedrick, age 79, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born September 22, 1933 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to Joseph B. and Vera Gladys (Leathers) Hedrick.
Don was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School in 1951 and Greenville College in 1955. He served in the United States Navy after college. Don worked for 24 years for Voit Rubber Company in Santa Ana, California as a Lab Technician and later for SAIC in Santa Ana, California as Quality Assurance Manager.
Survivors include three sisters, Verna Teimer of Gilbert, Arizona, Lois Boldt and husband Hermann of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, and Mary Cannon of Lawrenceville; three nephews-Joe Boldt, John Boldt and Bryan Cannon; as well as three nieces-Connie Boldt, Sylvia Boch and Carolyn Moen.
Preceding Don in death were his parents and a brother, Eldon.
Graveside services will be Thursday, 2:00 PM at Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
There is no visitation.
Military rites will be conducted.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Good Samaritan Hospice, National Parkinson's Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
