Diane Tykal

Diane Tykal, age 68, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 06, 2024 at 3:17 AM surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born on October 04, 1955 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard L. and Marcella (Ivers) Tykal.

Diane was a homemaker, secretary, worked in banking, entrepreneur, teacher in Mississippi, and caregiver. She had a great love for her sons, parents, and family; and loved providing for them. Her door was always open, and she loved making people happy. Her hobbies included playing the piano, reading, swimming, and cooking. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, and her favorite book in the Bible was Matthew.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Clayton Simmons and wife, Berkeley of Salem, Illinois and Curtis Simmons and wife, Jessica of Bridgeport, Illinois; one sister, Janet Tykal of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Robert Tykal of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two grandchildren, Alexander Michael Simmons and Jackson Lee Simmons; and friend, Dale Griesemer of Bridgeport, Illinois.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Bee Hive at the Lawrence County Health Department.
