Diane R. Gray

Diane Rita Stromp Gray, age 78, formerly of Lawrence County, Illinois died on Monday, July 30, 2018. Born in Detroit, she lived in Lawrenceville for a number of years. She was a faithful member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed basket weaving, jewelry making, and other arts and crafts. Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer M. Gray Brewington and her husband, Greg, of Westcliffe, Colorado and Nancy D. Gray Scott of Hampton, Virginia; two sisters, Elaine Stewart and her husband, Jim, of Westland, Michigan and Kathleen Sinclair and her husband, Don, of Trenton, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Devin Gray, Kyle Jefferson, Aren Jefferson, Nikki Jefferson, Dayna Taylor and her husband, Ryan, Joshua Scott, and Victoria Scott; eight great-grandchildren, Kanye Gray, Amerae Gray, Sophia Bright, Wyatt Taylor, Jacob Jefferson, Amaris Jefferson, Linux Jefferson, and Jada Manger; and one great-great-grandchild, Maya Manger. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Melvin Gray and one brother, Bill Stromp and his wife, Phoebe. A funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. A burial of ashes will be conducted at the Tann Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
