Dennis Thacker

Dennis R. Thacker, Sr., age 63, of Sumner, IL passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his residence. Born July 29, 1948 in Vincennes, Indiana, he was the son of William David and Corene Mabel (Stout) Thacker. He married Kathryn Clodfelter on November 17, 1967 and she survives. Dennis was a farmer and member of Chauncey Church of God and the Carpenters Union #634. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and supporting their hobbies. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Kathryn, one son Dennis R. Thacker Jr. ,also known as "D.J."(Stacey) of rural Sumner, three daughters Deon Ulrich (Dave) of rural Sumner, DeAnn Medler (Cale) of West Salem and Dawn Steber (Jeff) of rural Sumner; two brothers Darrel(Phyllis) of Salem, IL., and Dale of Florida, two sisters Cynda , and Christy (Gary) Young of Olney, IL., and 11 grandchildren. Services will be on Monday March 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Hi-Way Church of God in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be on Sunday March 25, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Hi-Way Church of God in Lawrenceville. Entombment will be in Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Claremont. Memorial donations can be made to Chauncey Church of God; envelopes will be available at the church.
