Dennis L. Hill

Dennis L. Hill, 42, of rural Bridgeport, Illinois passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 7, 1971, in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of James L "Bud" and Shirley (Waldrop) Hill. He married Roxie Blubaum on September 3, 1994. Dennis worked at Duke Energy as a Gasification Tech. He was a member of the Rising Sun Christian Church and the National Rifle Association. Dennis enjoyed hunting and spending time with a special group of friends. Dennis' father preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Roxie, of rural Bridgeport; his mother, Shirley Hill of rural Lawrenceville; one son, Layne Hill, of rural Bridgeport; a daughter, Alexis Hill, of Albion, Illinois; and two brothers, James C. (Kelly) Hill of rural Lawrenceville and Jeremy J. (Alisa) Hill of rural Bridgeport; a sister-in-law Alisha Goebel of Mt. Carmel, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 10 AM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Layne and Alexis Hill College Fund.
