Della Cooper

Della Kelley Cooper, age 97, of Lawrenceville, died at 5:45 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the United Methodist Village North Campus in Lawrenceville, IL.Della was born January 21, 1911 in rural Lawrence County, one of 11 children of Alvin and Alice (Dolman) Dunlap. She grew up in the Grayâs Corner area south of Lawrenceville. She married John Ambrose Kelley on September 3, 1929 in Lawrenceville. The resided for many years in Cisne and Noble. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1967. Della later married Mannie Cooper on April 29, 1967 in Crowne Point, IN. They resided in Merrillville, IN and Sumner, IL. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1987.Della was a devoted mother and housewife. She loved cooking, gardening, fishing, quilting and crocheting. She was a resident of Sumner for many years and was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Sumner. She had been a resident of the United Methodist Village North Campus for the past several years.Survivors include a son, Ernest Kelley and wife Trudy of Crescent, OK
