Dee Cook

Dee Cook age 78 of Lawrenceville,Illinois passed away December 28, 2011. He was born February 02, 1933 in Lawrenceville,Illinois, the son of James Roy Cook and Vinnie Gilliatt Cook. He married Shirley James,of Lawrenceville on March 08, 1956 and she survives. Survivors include two sons, Gary Cook of Lawrenceville,Il.: Bruce ( Bonnie) Cook of Bethalto,Il. and one sister Joyce Weiss of Sumner,Illinois; six grandchildren Brandon cook, Michael Cook, Joel Cook, Christopher Cook, Nicole Cook, and Christian cook. Dee was preceded in death by his parents; one son Jeff; and one daughter Vicki Cook. Dee was a retired mail carrier of 30 years and was an expert and skilled craftsman. His hobbies include wood working, refinishing furniture, and building miniature doll furniture. Dee especially enjoyed being with his family. He was an Army veteran in the Korean War. Graveside services will be Tuesday afternoon 1:00 p.m. at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the cancer society.
