Darren Thomas O'Grady

Darren Thomas O’Grady, age 61, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 22, 1965 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of William L. O’Grady and Carolyn Griffin O’Grady.

Darren grew up in Lawrenceville and graduated from Lawrenceville High School, Class of 1983. He had a career as an MRI Technician for over 30 years. His work took him across the country to help open new medical facilities, leading him to live in Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, and Indiana, among other places. A natural-born entertainer, Darren was always the life of the party, ready with a quick joke or a funny story. His humor, warmth, and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Darren was a craftsman who was always making jewelry and unique wall art, framing pictures of various famous people and interesting things.

Darren was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: children, Dean Maravich O’Grady of Nashville, Tennessee and Stevie Rei O’Grady of Charlotte, North Carolina; siblings, William (Lisa) O’Grady of Washington, Indiana, Larry B. O’Grady of Vincennes, Indiana, and Gary L. (Joni) O’Grady of Evansville, Indiana; aunt: Elaine (Russ) Goins; several nephews, cousins, and dear friends, including his best man and dear friend, Jeff Stevens, who remained faithfully by his side during Darren’s final days in hospice care. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Scott Polk for his visits and prayers.
