Dale Eugene Smith

Dale Eugene Smith, 72, of Olney, IL passed away Monday September 7, 2009 at his residence after a long fight with cancer.He was born April 26, 1937 in Lawrenceville, IL the son of Howard and Vivian Pearl (Emmerson) Smith. He married Beverly K. Evans in Creve Couer, IL on November 30, 1969.Dale was a devout Christian. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Navy. He retired from Roadmaster after 20 years.Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Beverly Smith, a daughter: Mary Smith and husband Paul of Wichita, KS, a son: Jeffrey S. Smith and wife Rhonda of Mt. Carmel, IL, and daughter: Naomi Elaine Talbert and husband Paul of Flora, IL. He had 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. he was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and a brother.The funeral will be Friday at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with burial to follow at Crest Haven Memorial park Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
