Dale Ray Davis

Dale Ray Davis, age 75, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born on May 12, 1948 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Clyde and Mary LaReta (Albert) Davis. He married Margaret Diane Sumner on October 23, 1970, and she preceded him in death on April 01, 2010.

Dale served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War; and retired from Gemtron. He was a hard worker, always took care of his family, enjoyed attending J.C.’s sporting events, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and wife.

Survivors include one son, John ‘J.C.’ Davis and wife, Michelle of Sumner, Illinois; two sisters, Sheryl Hobbs and husband, Robert of Sumner, Illinois and Mary Lou Tucker and husband, Harold of Bridgeport, Illinois; and two grandsons, Blake Davis and Marcus Davis.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery, with military rites.
