Connie Corder

Constance "Connie" Corder, 104, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1910 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Hubert and Daisy (Shreffler) Emmons. She married Harry Raymond "Bud" Corder on August 23, 1930. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1979. Connie was a wonderful homemaker. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She and her husband led the youth of the church for many years. She was named the National Sunday School Teacher of the Year. She began the Good News Club for kids, which she held in her home. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. Her relationship with Jesus Christ began at a Revival in 1930. She dearly loved her Lord and prayed for every family member each day. She lived out the fulfilling of the scripture, "His faithfulness continues through the generations." Survivors include two daughters: Patricia Jenney of Lawrenceville, IL, Jeannie Herron and her husband Larry, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, two brothers: Byron and William, preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday May 16, 2015 at 1:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, IL. Memorials may be made to Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church or Beulah Holiness Camp in Eldorado, IL.
