Clinton Eugene Hartley, age 70, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 in Richland County, IL. He was born October 4, 1941 in St. Anne, IL, the son of Kendall Cyril and Leona (Stone) Hartley. He married Brenda Ann Rieches, February 11, 1962 and she survives.
Clinton worked for 27 years at the General Motors Plant in Danville, IL until retirement. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and was a Hamm Radio Operator (N9EVT). Clinton was a member of Fairview Sportsman Club.
Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, a step-mother Charlotte Rose, and two brothers John and Donald.
Survivors include Brenda, his wife of 50 years, of Lawrenceville, three sons Daniel Gene Hartley and wife Betty Ann of Defiance, OH, William Scott Hartley and wife Brenda Kay of Lawrenceville, IL and Leonard Ray Hartley and wife Lisa Jane of Bridgeport, IL; six brothers Kenneth of New Braunfels, TX, Karron of Kankakee, IL, Robert of Pontiac, IL, Michael of Tallapoosa, GA, Thomas and Joseph both of West Branch, IA; four sisters Ardyth Hackathorn of Gravois Mills, MO, Judith Wright of Lithonia, GA, Florence Roedell of Forrest, IL and Marie Foiles of Kincaid, IL; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Monday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
