Clarissa Jane Burge

Clarissa Jane Burge, age 71, of Olney, IL passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. Born April 18, 1940 in Clinton, IL she was the daughter of Gilbert and Elverta Rowena (Leevey) Edwards. She married Gary Lee Burge, Sr. June 30, 1959 and he passed away in November of 2005. Clarissa was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Noble, IL. She worked as a seamstress at KCARC in Vincennes, IN until retirement. Clarissa enjoyed painting, playing the organ, crocheting, and snow sculpting. Clarissa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary, one brother Gilbert Edwards, two sisters Julia Woolever Cox and Beverly Darlene Hale; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Survivors include one son Gary Lee Burge, Jr. of Garden City, KS; two daughters Julia Chaplin of Albion and Bonnie Sue Hess of Sumner; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home.
