Christopher D. "Chris" Winkles

Christopher Dale “Chris” Winkles, 52, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Tuesday January 7, 2025 at his residence.

He was born February 21, 1972 in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the son of Rogar Winkles and Shirley (Bledsoe) Underwood.

Chris was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School, and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. He worked for Bobe’s Pizza in Lawrenceville most of his life. He also worked for Off the Square Restaurant, and the Lawrence County Assessor’s Office. He enjoyed making and playing music, and built numerous guitars.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Underwood and her husband Garry of Saint Francisville, Illinois; his father, Rogar Winkles and his wife Karen of Saint Francisville, Illinois; daughters, Paisley Winkles of Indianapolis, Indiana, Alexis Brown of Lawrenceville, Illinois; brothers, Rogar Joseph “Joe” Winkles of Pinellas Park, Florida, Dustin Winkles and his wife Sydney of Saint Francisville, Illinois, Trevor Winkles of Lawrenceville, Illinois; sister, Meghann Russell and her husband Andy of Pinkstaff, Illinois; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations may be given the funeral home to help with expenses.

Visitation is on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm CST, with a Time of Remembrance at 1:00pm CST on Tuesday at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.
