Charles (Charlie) Raymond Ellison, 85, of Covington, Georgia died August 3, 2014, at 7:20 AM EST at the Rockdale Medical Center, Inc. in Conyers, Georgia. He was born January 20, 1929, in Chilton County, Alabama. He was the son of Olin and Kate (Motes) Ellison of Clanton, Alabama. He is survived by four daughters, Gloria King of Georgia, Patricia Henry of Georgia, Sandra (Jerry) Peterson of Florida and Jade Ellison of Georgia. He is also survived by four granddaughters, one grandson, and four great-grandsons. Charlie's parents and wife preceded him in death. Karen Sue Ellison, 59, passed away July 1, 2011, at 1:45 PM at the East Side Medical Center in Snellville, Georgia. She was born July 22, 1951, in Vincennes, Indiana. She was the daughter of Wilbur "Pat" and June (Hasler) Schultz of Sumner, Illinois. Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Jade Ellison, of Covington, Georgia, her mother June Schultz of Sumner, Illinois, sisters Patricia (Larry) Glass of Vincennes, Indiana, Anne (Buster) Green of Sumner, Illinois, Esther Sweeney of Carbondale, Illinois, and Mary Beth (Steve) Smith of Casey, Illinois; one brother John O. (Linda) Schultz of Evansville, Indiana; 10 nephews, five nieces, 12 great-nephews and 12 great-nieces. Preceding Karen in death were her father, a niece, and a nephew. A brother, David, passed away in 2012. Karen and Charles were married March 23, 1979, in Covington, Georgia. Karen was a teacher of Special Education in the Newton County School System in Georgia and Charles was a WWII Army veteran and manager of several different gas stations through the years until his retirement. Karen and Charlie's wishes were to be cremated with their ashes interred together. Graveside memorial service and final interment for Karen and Charles Ellison will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the Sumner City Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Haley presiding. Sivert-Macey & Steffey is handling the arrangements.
