Catherine J. Carter

Catherine J. Carter, age 68, of rural Lawrenceville passed away January 6, 2011 in Beckemeyer, IL. She was born December 20, 1942 in Toledo, OH the daughter of Joseph Louis and Josephine Regina (Hester) Blaze. She married Robert Dale Carter on September 20, 1973 and he preceded her in death.Catherine was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She was a past president of the VFW Auxillary. Catherine worked for 30 years combined at both Victor-Dana and at Suttle.Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and one sister.Survivors include five sons: Timothy Allen Penk and Edward Joseph Penk both of Centralia, IL, David Patrick Penk and wife Nancy of Springfield, IL, Raymond Christopher Penk and wife Kathy of Olney, IL, Daniel Edward Penk and wife Marie of Beckemeyer, IL; three brothers Joseph D. Blaze, Clarence R. Blaze, and Frank P. Blaze all of Toledo; two sisters Rose Plewa and Josephine Wetzell both of Toledo, OHsix grandchildren: Tims daughter Alicia Penk, Davids children Abigail and Annika Penk, Rays daughter Amber, and Daniels children Chelsea and Robert Wayne Penk, as well as one great-grandson John Edward Costa.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL with burial to follow in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
