Carroll Sue Claycomb Mahin May 27, 1935 - July 3, 2011 Carroll Sue Claycomb Mahin age 76 of Lawrenceville,Illinois passed away Sunday, July 03, 2011 at the United Methodist Village North Campus. She was born May 27, 1935 in Russellville,Illinois, she was the daughter of Adron H. and Clara Alberta Nesler Claycomb. She married Fred M.Mahin Sr. July 23, 1954 and he survives. Carroll's life was spent as a mother and a pastors wife with her husband Fred. Together Fred and Carroll spent nearly 60 years ministering for a total of 13 churchs. Carroll enjoyed cooking at church camp meetings. She worked in several nursing homes and restaurants. She loved music and began singing at church at the age of three. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church on sixth street in Lawrenceville,Illinois. Survivors include her husband Fred, two sons, Melvin Mahin of rural Lawrenceville,Il., Fred M Mahin Jr. and wife Tamara of Aurora, Ind. Four daughters, Brenda Nesler and friend (Refugo) of Washington,In., Glenda Rotramel and husband (Jim) West Frankfort,Il., Linda Patton and husband James of Lynchburg,Ohio, Cindy Lewis and friend Matt of Fayetteville,Ohio. Two sisters Juanita June Tewell of Lawrenceville, Il. and Betty L. Ford of Decatur,Il. Eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents. A musicial celebration of Carroll's life will be Wednesday Morning 11:00 a.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville,Il. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bridgeport City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the, Sixth Street Wesleyan Church or the Good Samarian Hospice.
