Carolyn Louetta Mumaw, age 93, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at her home. She was born on October 1, 1932, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of W.O. Pinkstaff and Edna M. Timms.

Carolyn devoted 38 years of service to the Physical Therapy Department at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was known for her dedication and compassionate care. Outside of her professional life, she found great joy in quilting, crocheting, gardening, and canning. Carolyn spent many years raising and showing ornamental bantam chickens at local fairs, a hobby that reflected her patience and pride in her work. She had a deep love for animals of all kinds and cherished the time she spent working alongside her family on the farm.

Preceding her in death include her parents; one brother, Gene Pinkstaff; and two sisters, Martha Davis and Reva Mickler.

Survivors include her children, Michael Mumaw of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Jeffery Mumaw of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Adeanna M. (Robert) Daniels of Jackson, Missouri; one brother, William Pinkstaff of Lawrenceville; one sister Marilyn Baker of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; her grandchildren, Brettinie Bartusch, Nicholas Thurman, Breanna Gallian, Marie Reed, and Michelle Mumaw; and six great-grandchildren.

Carolyn’s wishes were to be cremated.

No formal services will be conducted at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
