Carol “Ann” Eubank, Evanston, Illinois, died after a six-month battle with cancer, Friday December 23, 2022 at home with her husband and three sons at her side. Ann was born July 11, 1946, the daughter of Samuel H. and Martha C. (Cunningham) Brookhart. She married Arthur A. Eubank, Jr. on September 6, 1970. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1964 and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1968. She earned her Master’s Degree at the Pennsylvania State University in 1971 and received her Ph.D Degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1982.
Ann was a teacher, realtor, and an auditor. She taught at Mt. Vernon, Illinois High School, Middle Schools in Pennsylvania and Missouri, and at the University of Missouri, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the College of DuPage, and at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to her retirement in 2016, she was a Program Auditor for a six-state region for the USDA Food and Nutrition Services, auditing individual state Food Stamp Programs.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Evanston, Illinois, where she sang in the choir for a number of years. In addition to being a homemaker and raising three sons, she was involved in her church, Boy Scout leadership, and numerous civic outreach activities. Her hobbies included wheat weaving, gourd art, pottery, myriad crafts, reading, and traveling. Her more recent primary interests in retirement were gardening and enjoying her four grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her husband, Arthur A. Eubank, Jr.; sons Arthur Andrew Eubank, III (partner Lisa) of Chicago, Samuel David Eubank (wife Katie) of Seattle, Washington, and Matthew Brookhart Eubank (wife Angie) of Evanston; and grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Eubank of Evanston, Elias Brookhart Eubank of Evanston, Grace Carol Eubank of Seattle, and Henry Arthur Eubank of Seattle.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. CST on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Sumner Congregational Christian Church, located at 414 South Christy Avenue in Sumner, Illinois, and may be viewed with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey . Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery.
