Cara R. Sanderson

Cara R. Sanderson, age 65, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 01, 2025 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. She was born on December 30, 1959 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Murl Harvey, Sr. and Susie Irene (Crump) Portschell.

Cara retired from Golden Rule Insurance. She enjoyed helping with Project Linus, going to garage sales and antiquing, as well as sewing and doing crafts.

Preceding her in death was her father and one sister, Christian Ann Johnson.

Survivors include her mother, Susie Portschell of Bridgeport, Illinois; two children, Tabitha (Clint) Lloyd of Gibsonville, North Carolina and Aaron (Nicolette Parr) Sanderson of Honolulu, Hawaii; two brothers, Murl ‘Pud’ (Karalynn) Harvey, Jr. of Sumner, Illinois and Art (Stacy) Harvey, Sr. of Washington, Indiana; one step-brother, Lawrence (Velma) Portschell of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one sister, Vera (Rick Robertson) Faustin of Albertville, Alabama; and three grandchildren, Jozelynn Sanderson, Elouise Sanderson, and Adalynn Lloyd.

Private family services will be conducted. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
