Caleb M. Mason

Caleb M. Mason, age 19, of rural Sumner, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Richland County, Illinois. He was born February 9, 1995, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Michael Mason and Shelly (Gosnell) Turley. Caleb worked as an oilfield pumper and rig operator. He owned his own rig and worked with his father. Caleb attended New Hope Christian Church with his grandmother. Caleb loved to hunt, fish, and go horseback riding. He enjoyed many traveling adventures with his dad to various states, but Caleb's favorite place to go with his father was to the mountains in Montana. Preceding Caleb in death was his paternal grandfather, Ronald Mason. Survivors include his father, Michael Mason of rural Sumner; his mother Shelly Turley of Calhoun; his fiancé Jaylnn Hinton of Sumner; paternal grandmother, Linda Mason of Sumner; maternal grandparents, Dean Gosnell of Olney and Mary Ridgley of Calhoun; four half-brothers T.J., Colton, Gage, Cameron and two half-sisters Angel and Kim. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 30th at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Saturday evening, November 29th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital with envelopes available through the funeral home.
