Bradley “Brad” Blomgren, age 37, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was born June 1, 1989, in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Bill Blomgren and Marie Heath Blomgren. He married Molli Potts, the love of his life, on October 21, 2017, and she survives.
He was a 2007 graduate of Red Hill High School, 2008 graduate of Lincoln Trail College with a associate’s degree in telecommunication, and a graduate of the Southeast Lineman Training Center. Brad was employed at Ameren Illinois for over 16 years. In his time there, he worked as a meter reader, substation apprentice, apprentice lineman, journeyman lineman, and was the current Electric Utility foreman at the Robinson Operating Center.
When he wasn’t working, Brad could often be found in his barn or around his fire pit, surrounded by his family and many friends. Brad was always the life of the party and was known for his wit and sense of humor. When he wasn’t entertaining in the barn, he could be found working on one of his many projects, whether it was tinkering with his Jeep, his son’s dirt bike, his daughter’s four-wheeler, his side by side, or maintaining the family vehicles. Brad was almost always on the go. In the summer months, and occasionally even in the winter months, Brad could be found cooking for his family on his pellet grill/smoker or griddle. This was something he truly enjoyed and had become quite the cook over the years. Molli will always remember Brad as the best “Disney” Dad, with the best dance moves, but most of all, his beautiful smile.
Brad was a long-time member of the Lawrenceville Elks, as well as the Bridgeport Moose, and IBEW Local 702.
Brad was a devoted husband and father, and encouraged his kids in their many activities. Whether it was football, baseball, basketball, softball, tumbling, cheer, or a dance recital, Brad could be found in the stands, watching them, and when the event was over, he was always there to give a pat on the back along with words of encouragement.
Preceding Brad in death were his maternal grandparents, Leon and Barbara Heath, and paternal grandfather, Don Blomgren.
Survivors include: his wife, Molli; children, Mila Blomgren and Beau Perrott; parents, Bill and Marie Blomgren; paternal grandmother, Harriett Blomgren; parents-in-law, Virgil and Lori Potts; brother-in-law, Sam (Breezy) Potts; nephew, Rowdy Potts; rescue dogs, Sully and Asa; cat, Tommy.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 7, 2026, 7:00 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 303 Buchanan Drive, Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. till the service hour of 7:00 p.m. Family requests casual attire for services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beau and Mila’s College Fund.
