Bill Becktell

Bill L. Becktell, age 84, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Lawrence Community Health Care Center. He was born September 13, 1927 in Drumright, OK the son of Thomas and Beatrice (Sanderson) Becktell. He married Lois M. Diggs and she survives. Bill worked as a laborer with Local 561 out of Evansville, IN until retirement. He was an Army Veteran. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Donald. Survivors include his wife, Lois of Lawrenceville and two sisters-in-law Betty Jones of Tell City, IN and Mary Balding of Lake Mills, WI. One brother-in-law also survives, Robert Diggs of Lawrenceville. Graveside services will be Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM, Lawrenceville City Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
