Beverly Harper

Biography Beverly Harper, 86, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 24, 1928, in Berwyn, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Angell and Florence (Wilson) Angell. She married Gerald C. Harper on March 30, 1952 and he died September 2, 2012. Beverly graduated from Millikin University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She played the piano and had a beautiful contralto voice. She taught school from1965-1989 and was an active member of the United Methodist Church and a member of PEO. She also sang in a quartet for many years. Preceding Beverly in death were her parents, her husband Gerald, and one brother Norman Angell. Survivors include one son Michael Harper of Greenfield, Indiana; one daughter Lori (Paul) Melchi of Savoy, Illinois, a sister Bobbie (Ron) Larsen of California, two grandchildren Christopher Harper and Kelsey Gregg, as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
