Bernice Thomlinson

Bernice Thomlinson, 94, of rural Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. She was born July 5, 1922 in Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Murry) Warden. She married Robert Eli Thomlinson and he preceded her in death. Bernice was a homemaker and a member of the Wesleyan Christian Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert; two sons, Ira and George Thompson; three brothers, Glenwood, Charles, and Raymond; and sister, Norma. Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Jones of Caseyville, Illinois, Rosemary Thompson of Jasper, Indiana, and Judy Fuller and husband, Marshall, of Bridgeport, Illinois; four sisters, Ruby Williams of Missouri, Iva Lee Navel of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alice Hardy of Iroton, Missouri, and Grace Lauritzen of Carlyle, Illinois; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Bernice raised her grandson, Hunter Rogers of Bridgeport, Illinois. Hunter and Angel had the privilege of caring for Bernice in her final years. Funeral services will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery in Flat Rock, Illinois.
