Barbara 'Bobbie' Sumner

Barbara ‘Bobbie' Sumner, 66, formerly of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Maple Park Village in Westfield, Indiana. She was born January 26, 1951, the daughter of John W. and Margaret Viola (Jones) Sumner. Bobbie graduated with her nursing degree from Olney Central College. She worked at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois, Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana, Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana, and Sullivan County Hospital in Sullivan, Indiana. She enjoyed reading and knitting, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Vincennes, Indiana. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Margaret Diane Davis. Survivors include her son, Paul Baltzell of Fishers, Indiana; brother, John W. Sumner and wife, Kim, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; sisters, Christy Sue Flanders of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Judy Atkins and husband, Jerry, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews. A memorial service will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Sumner City Cemetery in Sumner, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bobbie's memory may be made to the ASPCA (the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
