Barbara L. Sloth

Barbara L. Sloth, 78, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born December 24, 1939 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Lee and Clara (McClaskey) Crump. Barbara worked at Burlington Blue Jean Factory in Mooresville, North Carolina and as a waitress and bartender for 25 plus years at the Lawrenceville Eagles. Her memberships included the Billett United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Eagles, Bridgeport Moose, Red Hat Society, and Project Linus. Preceding her in death were her parents; companion for over 30 years, George Gosnell; one brother, Dickie Lee; one sister, Ruby Cassem; and two sons-in-law, Stanley Gosnell and John Fulton. Survivors include one son, Tommy Harmon and wife, Theresa, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two daughters, Candy Fulton of Bridgeport, Illinois and Cindy Withiem and husband, Roger, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one sister, Sue Portschell of Bridgeport, Illinois; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Billett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barbara's memory may be made to Riley's Hospital for Children or Project Linus.
