Annita Miller

It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the passing of Ann, age 58, who passed away on April 24, 2026 in Hueytown, Alabama.

Known to her family and friends as a loving, caring, and selfless woman, Ann filled our lives with her laughter, vibrant stories, and her “bright light” personality.

Her most recent hobby was crocheting. She found great joy in creating blankets, outfits, custom bathrobes and scarves specifically themed for her loved ones.

A dedicated and conscientious worker, Ann served as a security guard for the past 15 years. Her most recent employment was for Allied Universal at U.S. Pipe in Bessemer, AL. Prior to that, she served as a CNA for many years in Illinois and briefly in Alabama.

Ann was born in Robinson, Illinois on September 6, 1967 to Ruth Ann (Smith) Allison and the late Jerry Joe Allison Sr.

She is survived by her mother of Robinson, IL; her son, Eric Wayne Allison of Hueytown, AL; and her siblings: Brenda (Ron) Merrick of Neosho, MO, Janet (Harry) Goff of Phoenix, AZ, Jerry Joe Allison Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Allison of Bridgeport, IL, and Jena (Willie) Sanderson of Mebane, NC. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren of Robinson, IL and Hueytown, AL; great-grandchildren of Robinson, IL; nieces and nephews; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and her great-grandmother.

Ann was loved by all that knew her and will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Emmons Macey and Steffey Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, Illinois on May 9, 2026 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 1–2 p.m., with a graveside service held at May Chapel Cemetery following the memorial service.
