Anna Fischer

Anna L. Fischer, 96, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the United Methodist Village-Main Campus. She was born September 29, 1919 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Rosco and Myrtle (Gravitt) Wimberly. She married James Eugene Fischer in Marshall, Illinois on September 30, 1935 and he precedes her in death. Anna was a cook for eight years at the Hammond, Indiana schools; as well as a homemaker. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James; and son, Robert W.; brothers, Ralph, Robert, Harry, John, Ted, and Paul; sisters, Thelma, Letha, Betty, Della, Bessie, and Melva; and grandson, James Fischer. Survivors include her grandchildren Sherry Fischer of Hammond, Indiana, Kathy Feliciano of East Chicago, Indiana, Robert Fischer of Hammond, Indiana, and Cindy Espinoza of East Chicago, Indiana; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Kleine. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anna's memory may be made to the United Methodist Village-Main Campus.
