Ancil E. Roark

Ancil E. Roark, Sr. age 88, of rural Sumner, IL passed away February 22, 2008 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. BornDecember 13, 1919 in Bicknell, IN, he was the son of Avery and Stella M. (Ervin) Roark. He married Gloria Higgins on December 15, 1940.Ancil was a retired farmer and school bus contractor. He drove a school bus for many years in the surrounding Sumner area.He is survived by his wife Gloria, three sons and daughters-in-law, Ancil Jr. and Patricia Roark of Bridgeport, Charles and Stephanie Roark of Sumner, and Terry and Jerrie Roark of Sumner. eight grandchildren,four step-grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and one sister Mary Cullop of Vincennes, IN.He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and four sisters.Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL.The funeral will be at 12:00 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial following in the Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Sumner Senior Citizens.
