Alger Ernest Waters, Jr., age 71, of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born January 15, 1941 in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of Alger E. Waters, Sr. and Cleo Mildred (Stevenson) Morgan. He married his first wife Mary A. Stearns, who is deceased. He married his second wife Beth Ann Chambers April 26, 2001.
Alger worked for Ambraw Asphalt for 25+ years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
Survivors include his wife Beth of rural Lawrenceville; four sons Tony Waters and his companion Susan Hunt, Vincennes, IN, Herbert Waters, Vincennes, IN, Alger Waters, Olney, IL, and Delmar Waters and wife Shawn, Bloomington, IN; one daughter Shannon Nicole Waters and her companion Jeremy Keller, Sandborn, IN; one step-son David Overbay, Palestine, IL; one step-daughter Ginny Petty and husband David, Washington, IN; three sisters Ruth Ann Harris, Calumet City, IL, Betty Duncan, Hammond, IN and Etta Bowman, Bridgeport, IL; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Derr Cemetery.
