Biography
Albert Brodhacker, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born June 8, 1929, in Portageville, Missouri, the son of Albert Miles and Anna Ruth (Keaton) Brodhacker. He married Ruth Weaver in 1974, and she died January 23, 2015.
Albert retired from the National Guard in 1986 where he served as Master Sergeant. He and Ruth then moved to Mesa Lake in 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Albert was a member of the Allendale Masonic Lodge, was a 50 year Mason, and received a Meritorious Service Award. He was also a member of the Terre Valley Scottish Rite.
Preceding Albert in death were his parents; his wife Ruth, one brother and one grandson, Dax Brodhacker.
Survivors include 4 sons, David (Kathy) Brodhacker of Greenwood, Indiana, Albert Joseph "A.J." (Becky) Brodhacker of Greenwood, Indiana, Daymon (Sandy) Brodhacker of Martinsville, Indiana and Clyde (Marcia) Brodhacker of La Porte, Indiana; two step-sons Owen (Janice) Horton of Wheatland, Indiana and Gavin (Tammy) Horton of rural Bridgeport; one daughter Sharon (Joey) Branham of Burkesville, Kentucky; one sister Margaret Rierdon of Indianapolis, Indiana; ten grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services with Masonic rites will be at 2:00 PM (CST) Wednesday at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM (CST) at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery with military rites.
Memorials may be made to the Allendale Masonic Lodge with envelopes available through the funeral home.
