Violet M. Parish, 85, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born April 11, 1933 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Jesse and Rena (Crouch) Leib. She married Robert L. Parish on June 21, 1974 and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2007.
Violet worked in the kitchen at the Bridgeport Healthcare Center and also cleaned houses. She was a member of the Bridgeport Moose, the Lawrenceville VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Lawrenceville.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert; two sons, Curtis Wayne Gary and Robert Vincent, Jr.; two brothers, Don Leib and Frost Leib; and three sisters, Nancy McAllister, Doris Miller, and Marlene Farrar.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Stephens and wife, Paula, of Petrolia, Illinois and Randel Stephens and Dana Purcell of Sumner, Illinois; one sister, Maxine Longnecker of Illinois; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
There will be no formal services. A private burial will be conducted in the May Chapel Cemetery. The Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
