Shannon Gray Obituary

Shannon Lynn Gray, 45, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri (formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois), passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at his residence. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was scheduled for surgery on October 10. He was born March 8, 1971 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Gary and Linda (Creech) Gray.

Shannon was a 1989 Lawrenceville High School graduate. He then went on to receive his associates degree at Lincoln Trail College and his bachelor's degree at Eastern Illinois University, where he was also a member of the ROTC program. He had his CDL's and drove a semi for many years and recently worked at Rail Crew Express in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He also attended Pleasant Ridge Church.

Preceding him in death were his father, Gary in 2006; his grandfather, James A. Creech in 1989; and his grandparents, Rex and Irene Gray.

Survivors include his mother, Linda of Lawrenceville, Illinois; sister, Hillary Reedy and husband, Christopher; nephew, Jordan Reedy; niece, Megan Reedy all of Sebring, Florida; special friend, Sarah Hester of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
