Richard L. Daniels

Richard L. Daniels, 64, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008 at his residence.He was born October 8, 1944 in Centerville, IA, the son of Gene and Edith (Casteel) Daniels.  He married Freda Glenn February 14, 2006 and she survives.Richard retired from Oscar Meyer in 2003.  He was a member of the VFW.  Richard served in the Army from 1962 to 1966 and served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970.He is survived by his wife Freda, two daughters Veronica and Danny Ralston of Bridgeport and Elizabeth and Dr. Chris Mendola of Chandler, AZ; one step-son Melvin Newlin of San Diego, CA; two step-daughters Katie Haskell and Sharon Culbertson both of Vincennes, IN; two brothers Harry Daniels of Hartley, IA and Francis Daniels of Davenport, IA; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.The funeral will be held Saturday at 3:00 pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with burial to follow in the Pollard Cemetery.Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to the family.
