Patrick Spidel Obituary
Patrick Gerald Spidel, 68, of St. Francisville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his residence. He was born November 22, 1949 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Gerald B. and Jeanne (Sandlin) Spidel. He married Kathy Frye on November 14, 2000 and she survives.
Pat was an Oakland City College graduate and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Evansville. He was a 5th grade teacher at Brookside School and worked for Marathon Oil Company for 30 years. He served on the Lawrence County Board and the Unit 20 School Board, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a member of the St. Francisville Christian Church. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ first, his family second, but he loved and adored his long-time companion, his dog, Greta.
Preceding him in death was his father, Gerald.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; mother, Jeanne, of St. Francisville, Illinois; two daughters, Tanna McCullough and husband, Derek, of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Serenity Caudell and husband, Gage, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one step-daughter, Jennifer Hensley of Henderson, Kentucky; one step-son, Dwight Lucas and wife, Becky, of Morganfield, Kentucky; one sister, Cheryl Lynn Alka and husband, Robert, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.
