Marjorie Fry Obituary
Marjorie N. Fry, age 91 of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the United Methodist Village North Campus. She was born January 19, 1927 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of William "Willie" Wagner and Leona "Ona" Westall Wagner. She married Virgil B. Fry on November 25, 1945, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2007.
Marjorie retired from Golden Rule Insurance. Following retirement from Golden Rule she worked at Ideal Cleaners and Lone Pine Storage. She was a member of the Hi-Way Church of God. She was active in the Ladies Ministries Correspondence, where she served as secretary. She was involved with TOPS for over 40 years. She and her husband Virgil were some of the first families to settle in Knob Hill. Marjorie was a wonderful grandmother, extending her home to her grandchildren in their time of need.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Virgil; one daughter, Bonnie Johnston; two brothers, Melvin Wagner and Mervin Wagner; and one sister, Marie Flanders.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert L. Fry of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois and Jeffrey Fry and wife, Amy of Middleburg, Florida; six grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 01, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. CST at the Hi-Way Church of God. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery. Memorial donations in Marjorie's memory may be made to the Hi-Way Church of God.
