LaVinia Hundley Obituary
LaVinia E. Hundley, 79, of Olney, IL passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburg, IN. She was born December 6, 1938 in Sumner, IL, the daughter of George and Hazel (Hodges) Earnest. She was married to William Simmons and he preceded her in death. She then married Henry H. Hundley and he survives.
She worked at AMF-Roadmaster in Olney, IL. She was a member of the Whitehouse Christian Church. She was a member of the Richland County AGA, and the Richland County HEA.
Along with her husband, Henry, she is survived by one son: Tim Simmons of Olney, IL; one daughter: Joanne Smith of Sumner, IL; six step-sons: Charles Simmons of IN, Charles Hundley of Olney, IL, Herbert Hundley of Olney, IL, David Hundley of Bridgeport, IL, Jerry Hundley of Evansville, IN, and Nathan Simmons of Missouri; two step-daughters: Rhonda Templeton of Kansas and Amy Simmons of Missouri; five sisters: Thelma McVey of Sumner, IL, Maryann Tracey of Sumner, IL, Lila Piper of Sumner, IL, Wanda Chittwood of Sumner, IL, and Effie Carie of Oblong, IL; 25 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; two sons, William Simmons and Jimmy Tracey; two brothers, Monroe and William; and two sisters, Gloria and Betty.
The funeral will be Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11:00am at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL. Visitation is also Wednesday from 10:00am until the service hour of 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Sumner Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the family for expenses.
