Kathryn Marx Obituary

Kathryn Imogene Marx, age 90, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, former Sumner resident, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the United Methodist Village. She was born October 11, 1929 in Bridgeport, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil and Printhe (Shipley) Blackwell. She married Charles M. Marx on October 22, 1950, and he preceded her in death March 16, 2012.

Kathryn worked as a telephone operator. Her memberships included the Central Christian Church in Sumner and the Eastern Star.

Preceding Kathryn in death were her parents; husband: Charles; two sisters: Shirley Crawford and Deloris Hand; and three brothers: Charles, George, and Hershel Blackwell.

Survivors include her two sisters: Margery Hughes-Vaughn of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Barbara and husband, Charles Duncan of Olney, Illinois. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois, with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery.
