Erica Bootman Obituary
Erica Jo Bootman, age 40, of Alton, Illinois and formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Illinois. She was born April 4, 1979 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Michael A. Bootman and Sherry L. (Davisson) Bootman.
Erica was a 1997 graduate of Lawrenceville High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, and later earned her Master's Degree in Business at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. She was currently a Team Leader IT Application Support Manager for Lonza. Erica enjoyed life to the fullest. She was witty, brutally honest, goal-oriented, brave and fiercely independent. She was a Cubs fan, a lover of music, and enjoyed going to concerts. Most of all she loved her family and friends. Erica's generosity gave the gift of life to many through organ donation.
Preceding Erica in death were grandparents.
Survivors include: her fiancé, Benjamin Harrison and his children, Ellia D. Harrison and Austin N. Harrison; her father, Michael, of Vincennes, Indiana; her mother, Sherry (and Steve Cates), of Flora, Illinois; one sister, Andrea McCoy and husband, Ryan, of Terre Haute, Indiana; maternal grandmother, "Mema" Mary Davisson, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A service of remembrance will be at Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be at a later date. Memorial donations in Erica's memory may be made to Lawrence County Humane Society, and may be mailed to PO Box 564, Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439.
