Willard Cummins Obituary
Willard G. Cummins, 82, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born August 20, 1934 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Vernon R. ‘Pete' and Velma (DeLong) Cummins. He married Karen Armstrong on December 7, 1956 and she survives.
Willard retired from GTE as a serviceman and then later worked for Sheehan Pipe Line Construction Company as a truck driver. He was a Navy veteran and was a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and Shriners.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Wilber Cummins; and sister, Mary Krise.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; son, Bruce Cummins and wife, Jeannie, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; daughters, Brenda Williams and husband, Dennis, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Stacy Fry and husband, Anthony, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; brother, Warren ‘Barney' Cummins of Abingdon, Illinois; sister, Grace Calvert and husband, Tom, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private services will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Willard's memory may be made to the Edward Dobbins Masonic Lodge #164, the American Legion, or the donor's choice.
