Virginia Perrott Obituary
Virginia ‘Sue' Perrott, 83, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the United Methodist Village North Campus. She was born on September 25, 1932 in Wabash County, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil Herman Groff and Vera E. (Couch) Smith. She married Robert V. Perrott on December 23, 1950 and he survives.
Sue loved gardening, flowers, cooking, and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a secretary and bookkeeper with Skiles Oil Company in Mt. Carmel, Illinois; as well as a secretary with the Unit 10 Sumner Grade School. She attended the Sumner United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; step-father, Herbert R. Smith; brothers, Bob Smith and Bill Smith; son, Steve Perrott; and granddaughter, Jamie Ann Weger.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; sons, Tim Perrott and wife, Andrea, of Vincennes, Indiana and Terry Perrott and wife, Kathy, of Sumner, Illinois; daughters, Cindy Hasler and husband, Rick, of Bridgeport, Illinois and Ann Byrer and her husband, Richard, of Bicknell, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Karen Leist of Olney, Illinois; sisters, Peggy Sanchez of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Nancy Osoff-Kopp of La Verne, California and Mary West of Allendale, Illinois; sister-in-law, Flossie Smith of San Diego, California; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sue's memory may be made to the Sumner Senior Citizens Center, Lawrence County Humane Society, or Good Samaritan Hospice.
