Marilyn Mowrey Obituary

Marilyn Y. Mowrey, age 82, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at her residence. She was born May 30, 1935 in Chauncey, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Susie Nuttall Stout. She married Chester L. Mowrey on May 04, 1957 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2013.

Marilyn was a graduate of Bridgeport High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her class. She worked for the States Attorney, Pioneer Asphalt, along with several attorneys and insurance companies. In earlier years she reported the weather on WAKO radio. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Marilyn found enjoyment in watching and feeding birds. Gardening and flowers were some of her favorite past times. She enjoyed reading and was an avid Cubs fan.

Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents; husband, Chester; and one sister, Evelyn Kelsey.

Survivors include: two daughters, Suzanne and husband, David Davison, of Vincennes, Indiana; Cynthia and husband, Chuck Condiff, of Ft. Branch, Indiana; two brothers, Lowell Stout of Bridgeport, Illinois and Howard and wife, Margaret Stout, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two grandchildren, Zachary Davison and Chelsea Condiff; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday 10:00 AM CST at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. There is no public visitation. Memorial donations may be made in Marilyn's memory to the National Audubon Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
