Glenn Hesler Obituary

Glenn Hesler, 79, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born September 12, 1937 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of James and Mildred (McCarty) Hesler. He married Norma Shick on June 4, 1961 and she survives.

Glenn worked for Prairie Farms for 30 plus years as a route salesman. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church and the National Guard. He loved to travel out west and he enjoyed nature.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; son, Kevin Hesler and his wife, Lu, of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, Charles ‘Chuck' Hesler of rural Sumner, Illinois and Bernard ‘Bernie' Hesler, and his wife, Kathy, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and grandchildren, Megan Jo Hesler and Lauren Elizabeth Hesler.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Pinehaven Christian Children's Ranch or the American Heart Association.
