Garry Warner Obituary

Garry V. Warner, 74, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 11, 1942 in Pinkstaff, Illinois, the son of Ralph and N. Sue (Highsmith) Warner. He married Brenda Lancaster on July 6, 1968 and she survives.

Garry was an electrician for Marathon Refinery for 31 years. After retiring, he enjoyed farming with his brother, Larry. He was a member of the Vincennes Boat Club, Moose, VFW, and Pinkstaff United Methodist Church. He was also an Army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Don Warner.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda; son, Ty Warner and wife, Kristi, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; daughters, Tracy Cozart and husband, Charles, Jr, of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Tricia Stovall and husband, Dave, of rural Sumner, Illinois; brother, Larry Warner of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; and grandchildren, Ashley Cozart, Michael Cozart, Katherine Stovall, Sarah Stovall, and Cloey Warner.

Funeral services will be on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Derr Cemetery with military rites. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Garry's memory may be made to the ALS Association.
