Bobby Dining Obituary

Bobby H. Dining, 90, of St. Francisville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the United Methodist Village-North Campus. He was born September 16, 1926 in Denison Township, Illinois, the son of Herman O. and Nomah V. (Gher) Dining. He married Mary K. Garrett on November 11, 1947 in Lawrenceville, Illinois and she preceded him in death on July 2, 2013.

Bobby retired from Marathon in 1985, after working there for 37-1/2 years. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in WWII. He was also a member of Billett United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mary; two brothers, John Richard Dining and Jerry Dining; one sister, Evelyn Clark; and two great-great-granddaughters.

Survivors include his son, Donald P. Dining and wife, Gina, of Bridgeport, Illinois; daughter, Linda K. Whittaker and husband, David, of St. Francisville, Illinois; sister, Doris Archibald and husband, Jack, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Billett Cemetery with military rites. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bobby's memory may be made to the Billett United Methodist Church or the Lawrence County Humane Society. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
