Cremation Page

Handling the loss of a loved one is a confusing time. And you may have even more questions if you or your loved one prefers cremation. At one time, choosing cremation meant doing without a service, and limited your options for honoring the life of your loved one. But times have changed.

Today more and more families are combining the best of both worlds…a meaningful memorial service along with cremation. Many families plan a traditional funeral with visitation, followed by cremation and a committal or scattering ceremony. Others prefer a meaningful, personalized memorial urn service following the cremation. Still others prefer a simple cremation and sharing the cremated remains among family members in keepsake urns and jewelry. The important thing to remember is that you have options when choosing cremation.

We feel as a full service funeral home that it is imperative that you are informed of all the options that are available to you.  This easy to understand cremation options guide is designed to walk you through a simple 4-step process, beginning with selecting a cremation plan.

Step 1: Select a Plan

Select a plan based on the type of ceremony or service you prefer.

Full Funeral Service with Cremation ~ customized ceremony and visitation
prior to cremation with Memorial Tribute following cremation.

Cremation with Memorial Service~ private family viewing prior to cremation
with Memorial Service to follow.

Simple Cremation~ Private family viewing with cremation to follow. No service.

Direct Cremation~ Cremation without private viewing or service.

Step 2: Select a container
The container selected depends largely on the type of service and viewing desired.

Ø  Cremation Casket~ suitable for all types of visitation, and viewing, followed by cremation.

Ø  Basic Cremation Casket~ suited to simpler desires and/or private viewing prior to cremation

Ø  Alternative Container~ suitable when there is no viewing or visitation, however required by the crematory

Step 3: Select an Urn

What do you want to do with your loved one’s cremated remains after cremation?

Scatter them in a special place? Memorialize them in a decorative urn? Inter them in a cemetery plot or niche? The answers to these questions help determine the urn that best fits your needs. In addition to personal tastes, urns are designed for specific uses:

~ Niche

~ Burial

~ Home

~ Scattering

We can help you select the appropriate urn to meet your needs and any requirements.
